What is Copyright?

An exclusive legal right to publish, reproduce, or sell something (such as a book, song, etc.)  

 

 

 

 

What is Plagiarism?  

Using someone else's ideas as you own.

 

Plagiarism can be tempting, especially with school work. The easy way is not always the best way.

Cite your sources

Use quotation marks

Learn to paraphrase

Include a reference page

What is Fair Use?

Legal doctrine that portions of copyrighted materials may be used without the owner's permission if the use is fair and reasonable.
